Abigail After

Peter Rizzo, a recently-divorced Boston attorney, was in his early fifties when he met Abigail Palmer, a nice lady about his age with a luminous smile and a warm and welcoming personality. The couple soon began an effervescent love affair that seemed destined to last forever: they moved to France, they bought a sensational house-with-a-pool in Provence and a glamorous apartment in Paris.

They had been together for ten years when, out of the blue, Abigail sent Peter a curt, typewritten note ending their affair.
